Urban Decay

She said "See ya Later, Boy"
...he wasn't good enough for her

Music to Match the Look:
"Sk8er Boi" x

Styling:
Graphic T's are one of my many addictions & when I saw this shirt, I immediately gained inspiration for an urban punk-like set. I'm actually in the process of ordering this shirt for myself, boys who skate are all the rave ;)
To accentuate the punk feel of this look, I decided to go with leather skinny pants & of course, Vans (another one of my many addictions)...
Accessories:
To give this look a little bit of softness, I chose to pair everything with an over-sized Michael Kors tote (with the logo print). This provides some girly-ness (totally not a word, yes I know lol) to the look and keeps you looking fashionable.
I wanted to keep the jewelery light yet, eye catching. I love stack-able pieces and whenever I choose to wear a watch I normally pair it with a few bracelets to create a bit of an "arm party". For this particular look, I styled a camel-toned leather watch with a gold link and rhinestone bracelet. I'm also obsessed with knuckle rings, so obviously I decided to incorporate them into this set (I recommend wearing the rings on your bare hand to balance out your arms).
Footwear:
Limited-Edition Kenzo Vans
What can I say, Kenzo is one of the greatest designers and one of my favorites!
...so whenever I choose to style an outfit with Vans footwear, I immediately go to the Kenzo designed shoes. This pattern brings color back into the outfit while adding detail and style, instead of keeping this look dark, I chose a vibrant shoe to exhibit a "skater" quality.

Hey Good-Looking ;)

...Let Me Show You a Few Things

Music to Match the Look:
"Suit & Tie" x Justin Timberlake

I love this look, it's formulated for the businessman at heart ;)
This set is geared towards men of all ages, as a younger male you should always have a nice Italian-styled suit in the back of your closet. The Jordans are cool but there comes a point in life where you have to transform into the image that you want others to see.
Style:
I chose to style a slim-fitted suit in a smoked grey color with a black dress shirt and a graphic paisley printed (slim) tie. I decided to go with this color scheme because the grey and black would be perfectly matched with the colors in the tie, keeping everything on a grey-scale and having a burst of color in the chest and neck area helps balance out the look.
Footwear:
Vegetarian Shoes in Soho (Black)
Oxford-styled shoes are probably the best style of shoe to pair with any type of formal dress wear, they're sleek and help give you a smooth, polished look.
Accessories:
Nikon Men's Watch; black stainless steel helps keep your overall look elegant and fresh, it's not over powering and it gives an expensive quality...
Skull Ring; a touch of rock and edge, it gives off a masculine feel
Drykorn "Guertel" Belt; completes your entire image, keeping everything clean...a nice leather belt is a necessity in every man's closet.

This is a Man's World

Overdose on Life
Stylin' for the "All American Bad Boy"

Music to Match the look:
"Uptown feat. Bun B & Lil Wayne" x Drake

I finally got a chance to do some menswear styling *applause*
I like styling for men more than I do women
...if I was a guy I'd definitely be pretty dope ;P

For this look, I decided to go for a more casual feel.
This set could be worn to class, work, or basically anywhere...
There's something so sleek about a man in a leather jacket and skinny jeans, so of course I wanted to pair the two together for this look. I chose to pair black Cheap Monday skinny jeans with a men's shirt because these two items together can give a very effortless look. Unlike women, men prefer not to spend a lot of time "getting dressed", these particular items are easy to pair and quick to put on. It's important (a fashion necessity) for everyone to have at least one leather jacket. Leather is a staple to any wardrobe and you can combine it with almost any outfit. If you live in an area that's cold, you can wear this out and take it off once you've reached your destination. Wearing a shirt like this with the sleeves cuffed allows you to show your watch and/or tattoos (if you have any). Here, I chose a men's Gucci watch in steel from their G-Timeless collection. Michael Kors watches are all the rave right now for women and men, but I prefer brands like Gucci and Nixon selectively for men.
Man Purse (lol):
I hate seeing men carry things in their pockets, its easy to lose things when you rely solely on your pockets for storage. Every guy should have a messenger bag or some sort of backpack that they can carry around with them when on the go (p.s us ladies don't like having to hold your things in our purses). I chose an Obey "commuter pack" in a camo print to compliment this look, this is perfect if you're going to class and need to bring all of your supplies or if you're going to run errands because you can store items like your keys, wallet, and iPad without the possibility of misplacing things.
Footwear:
Vans Authentic Black Sneakers
Vans are my favorite brand of sneakers, I just think they are absolutely perfect, not to mention comfortable.
They come in a variety of styles and colors to match your everyday look.
Cologne:
Gucci by Gucci Pour Homme
This is like one of the best men's fragrances, it's priced at 59.USD and it's worth every penny.

"Maxi Fever: Flower Child" pt. I

"Like a true Nature's child, we were born, born to be wild. "
...styling your inner Hippie

Music to Match the Look:
"I Knew You Were Trouble" x Taylor Swift

Spring is here & what other way to usher in the new season than with a maxi skirt?
I'm going to provide three totally different sets in order to offer inspiration that can be used by someone in any genre of style.

I am in love with this particular set, it's something that I would wear on any given day :)
I channeled the inner bohemian for this look by pairing a floral maxi skirt & a white crop top with a fringe bag and flat leather strapped sandals.
Hair&Beauty:
To style your hair, I recommend a loose beach wave (like in the photo above) & adding a floral or ribbon-like headband around your forehead, hippie style ;)
For makeup, you want to go extremely natural. I chose a nude lipstick and a peachy/coral blush to add color while keeping your face warm and neutral.
Accessorize:
Marc by Marc Jacobs watch
I chose piece of jewelery because it is sleek and has a sense of simplicity and elegance. With a look like this, you don't want too much of jewelery on because it will clash with the look.

"Maxi Fever: Urbanista" pt. II

"Pour it Up, Pour it Up"
...styling your inner Urban Goddess

Music to Match the Look:
"Power Trip feat. Miguel" x J Cole

To style this look, I decided to give off more of an urban feel.
I paired a graphic tank with a striped maxi skirt and limited-edition graphic Kenzo Vans to mix prints and further the urban vibe by mimicking the image of graffiti.
Because each article of clothing is so heavily printed, I chose to stay minimal with the accessories (except for the necklace).
I chose a simple black leather Michael Kors bag to match a gold Michael Kors watch, and as a necklace I chose a Lion Head chain.
Beauty:
Personally, I would wear my hair in a messy bun to lighten the look.
I recommend wearing natural makeup with heavy mascara, I would wear a nude eyeshadow and no eyeliner because the lip color I chose to style this look with would be a deep wine shade, like MAC's Cyber Lipstick.

"Maxi Fever: Grunge Queen" pt. III

"Rock and Roll is here to stay"
 ...styling your inner Rockstar

Music to Match the Look:
"My Songs know What You Did in the Dark" x Fall Out Boy

...for this set, I decided to style for the rocker-at-heart :)
My personal style is pretty eclectic, I basically dress according to how I feel when I wake up. But if I had to describe my style I would have to definitely say it's in the "rocker" category. This outfit, as well as every outfit in this "MaxiFever" collection, is one that is styled according to my taste. What I mean is, I've worn outfits similar to these, which is where my inspiration for these sets came from.

To style this look, I chose to go with a side split-maxi skirt
The knee high split gives this outfit some edge while exposing the shoes.
I paired this skirt with a graphic tank to accentuate the grunge-ness (totally not a word) of this look...

To add some color, I chose to accessorize with an olive handbag.
Jewelery,
Skull Studs
Michael Kors Silver Watch
Beaded Cross Bracelet
I selected these particular items because they wouldn't overpower the look of this outfit, you don't want to appear over-accessorized. My advice is to choose minimalistic pieces to accentuate and highlight your overall look.

"Let's Get Sporty" ;)

"Champions keep playing until they get it right."
 ...styling your inner athlete

Music to Match the Look:
"Workout" x J Cole

For this particular look, I decided to give a sportswear vibe mixed with a bit of glam. I chose a "Nike" cropped tank to pair with high-waist harem pants to balance the amount of skin showing, as well as to bring more of a fashionable appeal to the look

Instead of wearing sneakers or boots, I picked a pair of open-toed pumps to add a twist to the overall look. To glam it up even more, I chose to style this outfit with a color-blocked snakeskin purse, I liked this bag because of its color scheme. The pop of color adds definition to the entire look and the snakeskin print offers extra style

Jewelery, I chose a Marc Jacobs watch and a simple silver arrow necklace as accessories to keep it as minimal as possible. You don't want to look over-powered, a simple watch helps you look sleek and effortless.

Beauty, personally I would style my hair to have body by curling it. Since the top is a cropped tank you don't want to be extremely bare, so I wouldn't chose an up-do The curls will give you a sultry look to accentuate the sporty/glam image. For the lips, I would go with some color. In this particular set I chose a red lipstick because it would be the perfect completion to the look

"Baby, señorita, ma chérie, please be my little lady"

 Ello Mates ;)

So I'm in the process of rebuilding my make up portfolio
and I randomly decided to make myself the first model, JK
So after taking 50,000,891 photos I ended up taking some
selfies on the cellular. I rarely wear heavy eye makeup
so I was in the mood to smoke it up a little...

Random: I am currently addicted to Justin Bieber's "Take You" (the acoustic version)
from his album "Believe", that's where this post title's quote comes from...
(I'm actually addicted to everything on this acoustic album)

So back on topic, I am in the process of rebuilding my portfolio...I will be posting the final edits of the "professional" photos I took today. I'll post a description of this look once it's uploaded :)

"How to Style: Bold Camo Prints" (Pt. One)

“An army of principles can penetrate where an army of soldiers cannot.”
Camouflage is one of this season’s most popular prints. It’s versatile, edgy and stylish.

This will be a three part set collection on How to Style: Bold Camo Prints

Music to Match the Look:
"Can't You Hear Me Knocking" x Rolling Stone

This is (without a doubt) one of my favorite looks! It’s such a laid back outfit yet extremely fashionable. You can wear this to run errands, attend a business meeting, go to work, go to school, etc.

In the set above, I paired a “The Ragged Priestcamo utility-leather sleeved-spiked jacket with leather moto leggings and a band tee (everyone needs at least one band tee). To match the jacket’s leather sleeves I chose to style black leather pumps with a leather color-blocked tote *thumbs up*

For jewelery, I decided to rock out with gold.
To have an arm party, pair your watch with a spiked bracelet (like in the photo above), you can also add as many bracelets as you want…on your bare arm, have a finger party ;-)  Wear a two finger ring or a few rings paired with knuckle rings.

"How to Style: Bold Camo Prints" (Pt. Two)

“An army of principles can penetrate where an army of soldiers cannot.”
Camouflage is one of this season’s most popular prints. It’s versatile, edgy and stylish.

Music to Match the Look:
"Run the World (Girls)" x Beyonce

In the look above, I decided to pair camo skinny pants with a graphic tank. This outfit has more of a casual feel so I chose to pair nude pumps and an over-sized tote to dress it up. What I love about this look is it gives you the option to style it to your taste. If you’re the type of girl who likes to wear sneakers you can or you can style it with boots, sandals, etc.

"How to Style: Bold Camo Prints" (Pt. Three)

“An army of principles can penetrate where an army of soldiers cannot.”
Camouflage is one of this season’s most popular prints. It’s versatile, edgy and stylish.

Music to Match the Look:
"Caged Animals" x  Ambassadors

For my third and final set in this collection, I chose to style this according to my personal style.
Leather is one of my favorite fabrics, so of course to further my leather-camo obsession, I decided to pair a black leatherskater” styled skirt with Alexander Wang’s Liya Point Toe Pumps in black leather. These shoes are priced at 538 USD they’re expensive but a wardrobe must have…to accessorize, I chose to style an over-sized black leather handbag with silver jewelery. To complete this look I decided to style everything together with a camo tank.

Another one of Aye Hasegawa’s AMAZING videos.

This is an iconic song by the great India Arie and their choreography (Jed Florano & Aye Hasegawa) is beautifully crafted.

“Get the Look: Mary-Kate & Ashley Olsen” (Part Un)

Stylespiration: The Olsen Twins

Music to Match the Look:
"Rock Your Body" x Justin Timberlake

image

Mary-Kate & Ashley Olsen are two of my biggest fashion inspirations, I love their rocker yet boho style. They don’t fit into any set genre of fashion, they wear what they want without caring what anyone thinks.  In the look above, I decided to re-create one of the more rugged looks. I chose to pair a flannel with distressed skinnys however, I went with a fitted flannel and not an over-sized one. To accessorize, I  picked rocker-esque styled jewelery (i.e spikes and studs), a fringe bag, and nude pumps.
I love this look because, it is very laid back yet, fashionable

“Get the Look: Mary-Kate & Ashley Olsen” (Part Deux)

Stylespiration: The Olsen Twins

Music to Match the Look:
"Learn to Love Again" x Lawson

image

For the second look, I went with something more fitting for night-time. It can be worn for some sort of formal event and/or a day on the job (if your job is more “white collar” or fashion forward). Ombre has been all the rave this season, which is why I went with this particular faux fur coat. As I stated in the previous “Get the Look” post, being inspired is not about copying someone, it’s about being stimulated by something or someone. You take something and make it your own, use that idea or look and mold it into what fits your style and personality. When I re-created the look above I decided to choose an ombre faux fur coat paired with satinparachuteharem pants and a bold-colored velvet heel.
Happy New Year & REMEMBER, Fashion is Fun!  ;)

"Casual Friday"

Like the great Fleetwood Mac said, you can go your own way.

Fashion is about expressing yourself through clothing.
Be You.
Be Bold.
Be Daring.
& most importantly,
Be Comfortable in your Skin.

Music to Match the Look:
"Go Your Own Way" x Fleetwood Ma

image

This is another one of my edgy looks,
Galaxy prints are all the rave right now so I wanted to dedicate a blog post on how I would style this particular print.
Personally, this is a more casual look. I would recommend styling your hair in a “messy” bun to give the illusion of being effortless. I decided to pair these leggings with a plain black over-sized shirt along with Jeffrey Campbell’s “Shadow Stud Platform”.
In the spirit of being “effortless” I chose to add a nice pink lip to accentuate this particular hairstyle…
My favorite lip color is “Saint Germain” by MAC

“From Dressy to Casual” Translating Outfits

Gypsy Woman!

 Music to Match the Look:
"Locked Out of Heaven" x Bruno Mars

To further my obsession with leather, I wanted to show how you can take a casual outfit and dress it up by swapping or adding certain items.
In the look above, I chose to pair leather leggings and a lace cutout crop top with riding boots.
Adding a tuxedo blazer instantly makes your outfit look formal, and swapping those boots for pumps makes it a complete statement.
The perfect staple to any look this season is a violet lipstick! The dark color adds edge and gives off a sultry vibe.
Enjoy!

Deck the Halls! Fashion for the Holidays

Style Meter: “Sexy Glam”

It’s that time of year; chilly weather, eggnog, endless parties, sensational food, and of course gift giving. Look your best this season in sequins and anything that makes you shine.

Music to Match the Look:
"Sweet Nothing feat. Florence Welch" x Calvin Harris

In the look above & below, you can accentuate by wearing messy buns. Both of these outfits have sequin pieces as the focal point, in order to avoid having a look that is overpowering, keep the jewelry pieces as subtle as you can (i.e earring studs).

The first look is perfect to wear at a formal holiday party while, the second look is a great outfit to wear at a family gathering or event.
Have fun & Happy Holidays!

I am obsessed with this SONG…and video!

Ellen Kim is an amazing choreographer and Aye Hasegawa is my absolute favorite dancer (and she’s Japanese so that’s a plus ;P)

"How to Style: Leather" No. I

Who doesn’t love leather items?

Music to Match the Look:
"Change" x Churchill

Fall is the perfect season to break out leather jackets, pants, or leggings. (I actually wear my leather jacket year round, even though I live in Florida where it’s ninety degrees every season, lol)

It’s the perfect staple to a “rocker” look, giving edge to any outfit!
Don’t be afraid to experiment; you can pair leather with leather, or with floral prints, or with camo, etc.

In the photo above, I decided to pair leather pants with a denim-leather sleeved jacket. The pairing of these items with the “creeper” shoes gave it a really rocker glam feel. Whenever you go really dark with an outfit, it’s vital that you have at least one colorful accessory to brighten everything up.

"How to Style: Leather" No. II

Who doesn’t love leather items?

Music to Match the Look:
"All That Matters" x Giraffage

Fall is the perfect season to break out leather jackets, pants, or leggings. (I actually wear my leather jacket year round, even though I live in Florida where it’s ninety degrees every season, lol)
It’s the perfect staple to a “rocker” look, giving edge to any outfit!
Don’t be afraid to experiment; you can pair leather with leather, or with floral prints, or with camo, etc.

In the photo above, I also went very dark. I chose to display a feminine, yet boyish style. Combat boots & a messenger bag reinforce the boyish appeal however, the crop top & skinny leather pants give it a really feminine look. I love chunky sweaters for Fall and this studded one would really give it the autumn touch.

"Steal His Style"

Ladies, your “boyfriend” is a source for many things; love, comfort, trust, compassion, reliability, stability, etc.
& FASHION!

Music to Match the Look:
"Boyfriend" x Justin Bieber

We all have those days where we don’t feel like getting all “dolled up”, days like these were made for you to reach into his closet and borrow a few things…
Grab one of his loose fitting T-Shirts, a pair of his sneakers (if you’re lucky enough to wear similar sizes), and some of your “boyfriend” jeans and you’re ready to hit the door!
- If you don’t own any “boyfriend” styled jeans, a pair of skinny jeans will suffice
- If your boyfriend’s shoes are too big (or too small) for you then just grab a pair of sneakers you have sitting in the back of your closet
- Accessorize by wearing an over-sized purse and limited jewelery
- Less is more, you don’t want to over accessorize
- A messy bun is the perfect hairdo to accompany this look, it will give you a simple yet sexy look

“Get the Look: Kim Kardashian”

Stylespiration 101

Music to Match the Look:
"That Girl" x Justin Timberlake

Stylespiration is a term I created to describe what happens when you take inspiration or a look from someone else (a celebrity, a friend, etc.) and create something new from it…
See a look you like and put yourself, your style, into it.
For all my ladies who like to wear sneakers:
You can wear still wear sneakers and look mature!

If I were dressing according to the look that KDash was photographed wearing I would throw on a band tee and add an infinity scarf to make it feel more like me. Getting stylespiration is all about being inspired, NOT COPYING! Be yourself and let your personality shine through.

"Top Four Fashion Myths: No. One"

"You need to be “wealthy” to be fashionable”
False.

Being fashionable isn’t about having a lot of money, it’s about having a function-able budget and  a unique sense of style.

Budget-Friendly Shops:

Goodwill Consignment Stores
These are goldmines,
you can find designer garments
at dollar store prices…if you want
a vintage look  this is the perfect
place to go shopping!

Retail Stores
(like Forever 21, Love Culture, Cotton On, H&M, Charlotte Russe etc.)
Places like  Forever 21 and Cotton On
provide fashionable clothing at reasonable
prices, you can find current trends
to fit your budget.

Outlet Stores
(Like Armani Exchange, Guess, Nike Factory etc.)
There are outlet malls all across the world,
these shopping centers host stores that sell
clothing at cheaper prices. For example, even in
Japan there is a mall dedicated to providing
customers with discount clothing.
If you’re ever in Japan :
Toki Premium Outlets
www.premiumoutlets.co.jp/en

“Markdown” Retail Stores
(like Ross, TJ Maxx, Marshalls, DD’s Discounts etc. )
“Never Pay Full Price for Fabulous”
Chains like these sell designer names at
retail prices. Although they give the
illusion that you’re getting a great deal on
designer products, the truth is , some designers
specifically create these goods at a lower price
so they can be sold at lower prices. Nevertheless,
these stores are a great place to shop because
they offer you quality items at an
affordable appraisal.

Department Stores
There are a few department stores that
actually sell clothing at reasonable prices;
you will almost always see a weekend
clearance sale at these stores.
Macy’s
JCPenny
Kohl’s
Sears
Try shopping for brands like:
-Material Girl by Madonna
-American Rag
-MyStyle Lab Brands

"Top Four Fashion Myths: No. Three" (pt. I)

“You can’t wear white after Labor Day!”
False.

Music to Match the Look:
"Pretty Little Heart feat. Lil Wayne" x Robin Thicke

Some rules were meant to be broken. White is a color that should be worn year round…It is a very versatile color; white can be paired with an assortment of fabrics, colors, and accessories.

Ways to Wear White:
White on White Paired with a Bold Shoe

This style can be manipulated to fit any style or look; for a more casual feel you can pair white skinny jeans and a white top with a bold shoe (ie. a cheetah print, red, nude, black etc.)

"Top Four Fashion Myths: No. Three" (pt. II)

Black & White:

Music to Match the Look:
"A.I.N.Y" x Gem

For a classic look, you can wear black and white. This look can be achieved by wearing a white dress (bodycon, coctail, etc.), with a black tuxedo blazer, and black shoes.

"Top Four Fashion Myths: No. Three" (pt. III)

Denim:

Music to Match the Look:
"Take Care feat. Rihanna" x Drake

Wearing white with denim is the easiest look to accomplish.
You can style this look to be casual, slouchy, semi-formal, day time or night time depending on how you pair the denim (oversized white shirt, a white blazer, a white tank, etc.)
I decided to go extremely causal in the look above, this outfit is perfect for running errands, a lunch date, or shopping.
- This look can be easily altered by trading cutoff shorts for flared jeans and by adding heels and a jacket.
You define the course of your outfit!
…minor changes can completely alter the way you look

"Top Four Fashion Myths: No. Four"

“Your shoes have to match your bag…”

uhh, FALSE

Although its 2012, I still hear people saying that your shoes should always match your bag…I would like to have thought that people ditched this idea with the new era but, unfortunately that’s not the case. Your shoes and hand bag don’t have to match, as a matter of fact, it’s much more stylish when they don’t.
Here’s one way I would style my accessories to compliment an outfit:

"Fall into Style"

Fall Trends
Colored Lips

This season’s hottest trend is wearing lipstick. As small as that seems, a pop of color can add major style points to a simple outfit. Don’t be afraid to experiment with different colors. I love a nice matte lip but, in the end everyone’s different and it’s up to you to choose the right look for yourself.
In my opinion, Fall is the best season to experiment with lip colors. The transition from Summer to Fall signifies the use of colors like maroon, taupe, red orange, etc.
My personal Fall Favorites:

Christian Siriano’s Spring/Summer 2012 Campaign

For those who don’t know, Christian Siriano is the Season Four winner of Project Runway. He is only 26 and has achieved much success with his clothing line “Christian Siriano” to see more fashions by this amazing designer, visit http://www.christianvsiriano.com

"Everyday Essentials: The LBD" Fact No. I

The Little Black Dress
In my opinion, every woman should own at least one LBD.
Whenever you’re in a rush, the best way to dress is in black.

Music to Match the Look:
"All I Wanted" x Paramore

It gives you the freedom to show and accent your style:
- whether your style is sporty, glam, vintage, edgy, boho, etc.
a simple black dress gives you a blank canvas to express yourself
- an item like a leather jacket can take your LBD from being “cute” to “rocker”

"Everyday Essentials: The LBD" Fact No. II

The Little Black Dress
In my opinion, every woman should own at least one LBD.
Whenever you’re in a rush, the best way to dress is in black.

Music to Match the Look:
"Day n' Night" x Kid Cudi

One LBD can suffice one day’s worth of activities:
Changing a few details of your outfit can take your appearance from day to night;

- switching shoes and adding a jacket can take alter the way an outfit looks

- to make a casual dress appear more formal or “dressy” you can add high heels, statement jewelry, a jacket, and a clutch to amplify your look

By swapping jewelry, trading combat boots for T-strapped heels, & adding a leather fur jacket, this dress is transformed into two very unique outfits

"Everyday Essentials: The LBD" Fact No. III

The Little Black Dress
In my opinion, every woman should own at least one LBD.
Whenever you’re in a rush, the best way to dress is in black.

Music to Match the Look:
"Let the Groove Get in" x Justin Timberlake

Black is slimming and it never falls out of style.
It is one of, if not the easiest color to work with; black clothing can be accessorized with almost any other color or print.

“Increasing your Personal Style”

Three fun tips to spice up your wardrobe.

Tip No. I
Layering

Music to Match the Look:
"Get it Over With" x Rihanna

Revive your old clothes or jewelery by piling them with new or current garments…
When completing this technique properly, you can take simple pieces and turn them into something totally unique.

“Increasing your Personal Style” Tip No. II

Mixing Prints

When done properly, mixing prints can give an edge to ANY outfit

Music to Match the Look:
"Diamonds" x Rihanna

**Avoid**
- Mixing patterns too similar in arrangement, for example, mixing two or more animal prints is not the best idea

**Remember**
- Don’t go overboard! Less is more, if you’re going for bolder prints, try neutralizing your outfit by accessorizing with metals…

“Increase your Personal Style” Tip No. III

Color-Blocking
Color-Blocking is when a garment or outfit is composed of infinite blocks of color”
Color-Blocking can be perfected in three ways, or schemes:

I. Monochromatic, or consistent color palate
This is the style of using one color, just in different hues and saturation.

II. Independent
Independent Color-Blocking is achieved by the use of mixed garments.

III. Isolated
The Isolated style is when the garment has already been Color-Blocked by the designer.

Style is something that comes from within.
It isn’t easily understood… fashion is temporary, style is forever.
