“You have to be skinny to be fashionable…”
FALSE.

Size does NOT dictate your ability to look good. The key is knowing and dressing according to your body type, your appearance can be enhanced just by choosing the right clothes.

Hourglass Body Shape
the “Kim Kardashian”
This specific body shape is classified by :
a narrow waistline
medium - large bust
bust hip being the same width
To accent your body, wear clothes that fit closer to your body, baggy clothing doesn’t flatter this type of shape

Round Body Shape
the “Amber Riley”
A Round body shape is characterized by :
fullness at the midriff
small shoulders and a full neck
no waist definition
bust, waist, and hips close in measurements
horizontal body line
To accent your body, use shoulder pads to proportion the top half of your body
choose “v” necklines and vertical design lines(draped scarves, long necklaces, etc.)
Medium scaled prints, not tiny or over-sized
choose garments with darts, gores, etc. to create waist definition
dark colors work well to create a slimming look
AVOID:
over-sized dresses like  caftans or mu’u mu’us
cropped pants
wide waistbands

Triangle Body Shape

Triangle body shapes are specified by :
small to medium frames
narrow or sloping shoulders
hips wider than that of shoulders and bust-line
 body larger below the waist
large hips/derriere
To accent your body, draw the eye upward by using colorful accessories
AVOID: long jackets

Inverted Triangle Body Shape

The Inverted Triangle body shape is characterized by :
shoulders being wider than the hips
small hips and flat derriere
may have full bust
To accent your body, wear “v” necklines to elongate your upper body
loose clothing belted at the waist
horizontal striped and patterns
accessories and jewelery to elongate the torso (scarves, long necklaces)

Rectangle Body Shape

Rectangular body shapes are distinguished by :
very little or no waist definition
the visual illusion of hips and shoulders being balanced
small derriere
long legs (usually)

To accent your body, wear fitted jackets with defined shoulders
wrap dresses
fitted pants with a flare at the bottom
waist defining lines
