Color-Blocking

Music to Match the Look:
"Señorita" x Justin Timberlake

This is a simple set that I've put together, almost everyone can achieve this look. Every woman and/or girl should own a pair of shorts, wedge heels, a graphic tank, and a blazer. As long as you have these items, you CAN pull off a look similar to this. I chose color-blocking as my theme for this set and mixed elements of casual and "dressy" attire. This look can go from day to night, for example let's say you have a 4 o'clock class; you throw on a pair of cutoff shorts, a graphic tank (like in the photo above), and a pair of vans....during your class you get a text from a friend saying "Let's meet up for drinks later, 7pm @ Blue Martini". You won't have enough time to get ready because your class ends at 6:00 pm and you have to leave your house, or dorm, by 6:30pm...all you have to do is substitute those vans for a pair of wedge heels, add a blazer, and swap that book-bag for an over-sized handbag and you're ready for the nightlife!

I hope you've enjoyed this post, remember fashion is about taking inspiration and molding it to fit your personal style...

I'll Let You Be in My Dreams if I Can Be in Yours---

Go confidently in the direction of your dreams, Live the life you've always imagined...

Music to Match the Look:
"Supersoaker" x Kings of Leon

For this look, I decided to style for both women and men. This particular set is one with a "date night" theme...this is the perfect look for dinner at a nice restaurant or a relaxing evening on the boardwalk. For couples-wear (another one of those words that I'm making-up as I go) I like to have the looks match, without being obvious. Specifically in this set, I've given these outfits cohesion by choosing to style with similar color palettes and the Gucci brand.
Styling
Women(s)
This look is very relaxed, since it's the Fall season, I am slightly obsessed with over-sized sweaters. For this set I chose a Rag & Bone wide-neck sweater in the color grey, this is a very pricey brand but, it's one of my favorites. Black skinny jeans from 7 For All Mankind are paired with this top along with red suede pumps from Zara to accent the statement piece; this beige Gucci original "GG" fabric handbag.
Men(s)
There's something very alluring and attractive about a man who is stylish in a very simplistic/ laid-back kind of way. I styled this look and many of my looks for menswear this way...
Top: Basic cotton deep v-neck
Pants: J Brand white skinny jeans
Shoes: Black and White Converse "Chuck Taylor All-Star"
Watch: Gucci "G-Timeless" Sport Watch

Boy Meets Girl--

More like...the guy meets a smart girl who wears a lot of sweaters and drinks cocoa. They talk about books and issues and kiss in the rain.

Music to Match the Look:
"Say a Prayer" x Tyler Bryant & The Shakedown

This is another couples set, I'm starting to do a lot of posts now styling for both women and men... This is the perfect look for a day at the mall or a movie night--
Styling
Women(s)
Distressed Romwe t-shirt (I love this shirt, the sleeveless and distressed features give you outfit such an edgy feel which helps bring an element of style to something so effortless and "chill") paired with dark denim skinny jeans. For the shoes, I chose to style with wedged sneakers, this shoe compliments this outfit perfectly...it brings the right balance of casual and edge (in this particular set, I've chosen Isabel Marant's "The Bekett" suede wedge sneakers). To accessorize, you want to go pretty minimal. A single cuff, or watch would accent this look rather than wearing a lot of wrist-wear...If you want to wear a necklace, I would recommend wearing a single chain (mid-length/around the collar bone area)
Men(s)
Deep v-neck cotton t-shirt (I prefer the look of deep v-necks over the traditional v-neck) paired with mid-blue washed skinny jeans. For the shoes, I'm choosing low-top sneakers (Vans slip-ons or low-top Converses will compliment this look) and you can choose a different color or print, I just decided to choose black because its basic and matches the womenswear look in this collection. To accessorize this look, I chose a black leather wrap bracelet because it adds an element of rock and grunge without taking away from your masculinity.

The Gentleman's Quarterly--

"A Gentleman is Simply a Patient Wolf--"

Music to Match the Look:
"Untitled (How Does it Feel)-Cover" x Daniel de Bourg

I've been in this theme of ease and comfort, like the womenswear "Easy Glam" post, this set is one that evokes a sense of easiness. This is a very clean look, when styling for men you don't want to "over do it". A few of my last menswear posts have been styled with a rocker vibe, this post was inspired with more of an urban suaveness (totally not a word).
Styling
I chose the "I Love Ugly" Zespy Pant in the color tobacco, which can be purchased here...
I really like the slim fit of these pants, the dropped crotch gives extra room where it's needed--the fit in the legs/ankles give a sleek and polished look. I recommend wearing low-top/slip on shoes because they will accentuate the gathering of fabric at the ankle.
Top--Zadig & Voltaire Military-styled shirt, cuffed at the elbow...
Shoes--Vintage Burberry Sneakers
Watch--Sportwise Watch by GUESS

La Dolce Vita ---

"Set the Night on Fire, Baby Burn it Up!"

Music to Match the Look:
"Change" x Churchill

Hello Dolls,
It's been a long time since I've published a styling set! I've been extremely busy but, I'm back! For this set, I wanted to style something that was easy yet, edgy. I chose to go with a pair of distressed "boyfriend" style jeans because they're comfortable and go with the theme of this look. This look is effortless, which is one of the reasons why I'm really loving it, and fashion-forward. The cropped shirt I paired with this set give the jeans a sexy/"dressed-up" vibe, being that it's the summer season, and it gets really hot where I live, this outfit would be perfect for a night outing (because you wouldn't have to worry about the humidity affecting your look *thumbs up*).
Accessories: all black everything ;P
Black Ankle Strap Sandals by Zara (<--- click for purchase details)
Office City Bag by Zara (<--- ditto)
As you all should know by now, I'm a huge fan of midi ("knuckle") rings…I chose to go with a set of three in gold, they're pretty basic, you don't want too much going on because I did choose the necklace to be the statement piece.
This multi-chain necklace is by Giuseppe Zanotti, clearly it's very expensive but you can use this to give you an idea of how to style the right accessories to go with this look. You can find a necklace similar to this at almost any retail store like Forever 21 and/or Zara...
Beauty: au naturale ;)
Yves Saint Laurent Lipstick in "Peach Passion" available at Sephora (<--- ditto x2)
because this look is one of ease, I would recommend that you go very natural with the make-up, flawless dewy skin with peachy lips and cheeks (trust me, you can never go wrong with this look).
I would recommend wearing your hair down, whether it's curled, wavy, or straight, wearing your hair down will accent the sexiness of this look

Geek Chic

Fashion for the Stylish Student

Music to Match the Look:
"Remember Me feat. Jessie J" x Daley

This set's inspiration came from starting this (summer) semester in college. After a short pre-summer break, it's back to the chopping block. If anyone is like me, procrastination is your worst enemy...waiting until the last minute to study seems to be a situation I find myself in quite often (like today, smh). To keep my focus, I like to study at my campus library or at a local coffee shop (like Dunkin' Donuts or Starbucks). If any of you frequent these places, you know that they can get quite cold...because of this factor, whenever I go out to study I like to dress for the artificial climate .
Styling
I chose to style this look extremely laid back, I went with a Brian Litchenberg graphic sweatshirt paired with leather pants. The ease of the sweatshirt is heightened by the flare of these leather-coated pants. To keep this look effortless, I didn't want to accessorize too much. Keeping it, simple I chose  faux gauges for earrings and a few midi rings.
Shoes & Handbag
For this look, I wanted to choose a boot that would be comfortable, warm, and way more fashionable than UGGs...I decided to pair this set with Minnetonka fringed boots in a caramel tone to add a little color to the entire look. Since this look is for a study session, I would wear an over-sized bag so that I could carry all of my school supplies (instead of wearing a backpack).
Beauty
I normally wear my hair in a messy bun when I'm studying so that my hair isn't a distraction...for this set, I decided to go with a "tousled topknot" styled bun because of its polished look. Summer is the perfect season to flaunt bright colors, and what better way to flaunt than with brightly colored nails? I don't normally suggest nail colors but for this set I wanted to pick a color that would accent this look. I chose a pink in the shade "Chasity" by Essie

Summer Sensations! Swimwear Edition (No. Uno)

...because its summer and the memories are just waiting to happen

I was asked to dedicate a post on styling swimsuits for summer, I thought this would be a great opportunity to extended my summer theme.
The following posts will be a set collection on:
"How to Style": Summer Swimwear
I'll show you how to wear your swimsuit in style :)

Music to Match the Look:
"Laredo" x Band of Horses

During the summer season, a popular pastime is to go to the beach. I wanted to do a set collection on styling swimwear and being a South Florida native, I've been around the beach scene my whole life. Whenever I go to the beach I still put effort into my outfit, although you're going to be in the water, at some point you may go eat or shop on the strip. Especially in areas like Miami Beach, you want to appear fashionable...you never know who you're going to meet ;)
Styling:
I chose this vibrant yellow fringe bikini for this set, this color would look good on women of any skin color. Yellow is a color that signifies summer, I think this color is perfect for a day on the beach. To accentuate this bikini, I chose to pair it with an Aztec printed cover-up. Wearing an over-sized shawl like this provides the perfect amount of coverage, while showing off your summer body.
Shoes:
"Strappy Flat Sandals" by Zara

Summer Sensations! Swimwear Edition (No. Due)

Sandy Toes & Salty Kisses

Music to Match the Look:
"Alone Together" x Fall Out Boy

This goes out to all my fellow rocker chicks, I wanted to style something edgy so I decided to go with a Wildfox tankini top and high-waisted (graphic print) bottoms.
I love this look , its a bit retro..the sunnies give off a hippie vibe, they remind me of John Lennon. I decided to style this as a swimsuit only and just add a few accessories. Because of the rock & roll inspiration I had while styling this, I decided to make black the main color so that the bottoms are the focal point. I chose to accessorize this look with black jewelery,  I fell in love with these gun-stud earrings and they look awesome with a messy bun because you'll actually be able to see them. I also chose stack-able bracelets and matte black sandals.

Summer Sensations! Swimwear Edition (No. Tre)

My Heart Sleeps by the Sea...

Music to Match the Look:
"Blown Away" x Carrie Underwood

I styled this swimsuit with some bohemian inspiration.
This a perfect outfit for a lunch date on the beach, the maxi skirt and vest builds an outfit around your bikini and the denim compliments this ombre dip-dyed fabric. I know a lot of people wonder why you should put so much effort into what you wear to the beach but, dressing for a day at the beach is one of the best events to style for. It's important to be prepared, you never know where you're going to end up once you head out for some sun. You don't want to find yourself at a restaurant in only a bikini and shorts...Plus, beaches like South Beach in Miami, Fl are flooded with celebrities, you never know who you might meet and natives tend to walk the strip in style.
Remember, treat every day like a photo opportunity ;)

Summer Sensations! Swimwear Edition (No. Quattro)

Life's a Wave, Catch It!

Music to Match the Look:
"22" x Taylor Swift

For this set, I decided to pair high-waist swimsuit bottoms with a floral bikini top, the fun thing about picking swimwear is the aspect of mixing and matching. I decided to go with a light blue and floral pattern because this color would look great on any skin complexion. This is more a relaxed outfit, instead of pairing this with pants or a skirt, I wanted to style this swimsuit with a denim button-up shirt. These swimsuit bottoms are high-waisted so they provide more coverage than a regular bikini, you wouldn't be as exposed in this as you would be in the latter. I chose to style this look with black strapped sandals and I would wear a necklace like the one in the photo (above). I also chose to style this look with a metallic Michael Kors bag and a pink lip

I would personally wear something like this to meet up with my friends at a bar or a seaside fast-food restaurant like Johnny Rockets.

Top Ten Beauty Picks!

Ten of My Favorite Beauty Products & How I Use Them
...links are in red, click for more info :)

I.
I use this product EVERYDAY, it's something I absolutely cannot live without. This solution can be used in a variety of ways however, there are three specific ways I apply Fix +
i. Spray all over face before applying make-up (before primer, foundation, etc.)
ii. Spray after make-up is finished to set and rejuvenate (I also carry this with me throughout the day and use it whenever I want to rehydrate and revitalize my make-up)
- This is a technique that should always be used (alone or paired with techniques I or III)
iii. Spray directly onto brush (188 MAC Duo Fibre Brush, F80 Sigma Flat Kabuki Brush, or E.L.F Studio Powder Brush), apply foundation onto damp brush, then apply product onto face...after the foundation is applied evenly spray a generous amount of Fix + onto brush and stipple the damp brush around your face to help create a dewy finish

II.
(this is another product I use everyday) This is only one dollar, it works like a charm and it's a two in one set. I prefer the brow gel in this duo over MAC's Brow Set. Unlike the latter, the E.L.F brow gel holds your brows in place but doesn't make them overly stiff...
I use this product twice during the application of my make-up.
First, Apply my moisturizer and primer
Second, Shape my brows using the "brow gel" side of the wand (let them dry then continue)
Third, Fill in my brows using MAC's "Spiked" Eyebrow Pencil
Fourth, Shape and clean brows using concealer
FifthApply brow gel again to keep brow hairs in place

III
The texture of my hair is crazy, my hair is really thick and curly (naturally). When I straighten my hair it tends to get really frizzy/puffy, I just started to use this product recently and it works really well with my hair. It tames any "fly aways" and keeps my hair shiny/smooth. I apply this onto my hair when I wear it curly or straight, when my hair is curly I like to use this to help keep it soft (all the gel and mouse can make my hair really hard so I use this to balance everything out).

IV.
This is an amazing shadow, it's buildable so you can make it as strong or dull as you want it to be. I love the fact that it's a blend of black and gold because this makes it extremely versatile, you can use it to complete a smokey eye or you can use it on your lid alone to create a more natural look.

V.
This is a great primer because it leaves your skin feeling silky yet it dries as a matte finish and it helps conceal the appearance of pores and fine lines.

VI.
These are my favorite foundation brushes!
(I apply my foundation with these brushes in a stippling motion)

VII
I love this finishing powder, it absorbs any oil/shine left after applying foundation and leaves your face looking extremely matte. (I like to use this as an eyeshadow as well)

VIII
This is an amazing product, it has excellent coverage and is extremely lightweight.

IX
...when used with the Fix + technique (iii) detailed in number one and paired with Rimmel's Stay Matte Pressed Powder, it looks amazing. It's the prefect foundation to create a dewy finish and it looks extremely natural (which is one of my main concerns when choosing a foundation). This product also works well with dry skin!

X.
MAC "Lightscapade" Mineralize Skinfinish
I love to use this product for highlighting purposes, it's the perfect powder to set any creme or liquid concealer/highlighter.

Summer Sensations! How to Style: Cut-Off Shorts (Part I)

Can't You Hear Summer Knocking?
...styling for the HEAT WAVE
This will be a summer collection on "How to Style: Cut-Off Shorts"

Music to Match the Look:
"Litost" x Ambassadors

For this set,
I decided to style with black (distressed&studded) cut-off shorts. I've been wanting to include this graphic "Celine" tee in one of my sets and I figured this would be the perfect look to accent this shirt.
Shoes:
Jeffrey Campbell "Damsel" in floral print
I chose to go with this style of shoe because I knew it would compliment this vibe perfectly...the platform bootie gives a lot of edge and this particular  floral print adds color/depth to the entire outfit.
Accessories:
One thing I love to do is "mix metals"...for a very long time it's been said that "you can't mix silver and gold, etc" well that's WRONG! Mixing your metals (gold, silver, gunmetal, bronze, etc.) adds so much of style and edge to your look. In this set, I chose to show this aspect of my personal style by choosing rings that are pre-mixed and a leather wrap-around watch bracelet. Leather bracelets are another one of those staple pieces that can add a sense of style and character to your outfit.  I chose a sideways cross chain as a necklace, it's simple yet stylish (this type of neck-wear will help accentuate your look).

Summer Sensations! How to Style: Cut-Off Shorts (Part II)

All Good Things are Wild & FREE!

Music to Match the Look:
"Dog Days Are Over" x Florence & the Machine

Part II is dedicated to the Indie Rocker,
I chose to style this set for someone who is attending a festival like Coachella or the Free Press Summer Fest. Distressed (light denim) high-waisted cut-offs were the perfect shorts for this look because the light color adds a vintage "angelic" feel to this set. To accompany this hippieesque look, I chose to pair these shorts with an over-sized white  shirt (it's made out of a lightweight jersey material which is perfect for an outdoor event).
Accessories
I decided to accent this look with gold jewelery. A long necklace is perfect for this set because it will help highlight the neckline. This particular shirt has a column of buttons down the center, if you wear the shirt unbuttoned (two buttons or so) it will expose the neck and collar bone area (having a long chain helps to elongate and beautify this region).  I instantly knew that I wanted to have some Arm Candy with this look, I chose to go with a color that was vibrant and alluring. I ended up choosing a mint and gold braided watch, the wrap-around feature of this piece intensifies the layering and to add to the wrist area I chose to combine a few beaded bracelets (also in mint and gold).
Hair
I would style my hair with a lot of body, big curls or loose beach-styled waves would be perfect for this look and I would complete my hairstyle by wearing a headband (around my forehead like in the photo above).
Shoes

Summer Sensations! How to Style: Cut-Off Shorts (Part III)

I Won't Be a Rockstar...

I Will Be a Legend

Music to Match the Look:
"Dream Catcher" x In Fear and Faith

In the Spirit of Rock & Roll,
I chose to style this set with a little edge and simplicity. Military inspired looks are one of my favorite "vibes" to create a set with. Instead of going with camo-printed shorts, I chose an army green colored cut-off short to style with this graphic tank, the American flag print used on the tank helps further the military "vibe" of this look. With the summer comes an abundance of concerts, festivals, and outdoor activities, this collection is styled with ease and comfort for the summer weather. This set is particularly styled for someone attending an in indoor or outdoor concert. I would wear this at an event like Vans Warped Tour but, for this particular occasion I recommend swapping these wedge booties for a pair of Vans or Converse sneakers since this is an all day event.
Accessories
I chose gunmetal colored jewelery for this look, a winged skull pendant is the perfect neck piece because it will hang around your collar bone and it accents the American eagle on the tank. You can purchase this "Full Tilt" tank online here. I also chose a watch in the gunmetal color by designer Karl Lagerfeld. This is such a sleek and sporty watch, it compliments this outfit perfectly by not being too flashy. The last accessory that I chose to accompany this look is a pair of matte sandalwood colored glasses. These are non-medicated and look great paired with a messy bun hairstyle.
Shoes
Lanvin "Wedge Derby Shoe"
I would wear this look as is if I was attending an indoor concert and like I stated above, if I was going to an outdoor concert like the Vans Warped Tour I would swap these booties with a pair of Vans or Converse sneakers.

Couple's Wearapy

...the Couple that Styles Together, Stays Together
“I'm oxygen and he's dying to breathe.”

Music to Match the Look:
"Her Monologue"x Issues

His & Hers:

Styling, etc.

For the guy I chose a harem-styled pant, it's made of a lightweight material and of sportswear design. I love the slim-fit of these pants, actually I'm just biased to any men's pant that is skinny at the ankle... This design is amazing and the comfort level is high. I've included a photo (left) to show how these pants look on a model, so that you can actually see the fit. One of my favorite things about this pant is the "dropped crotch", it adds an element of style to the look and I would imagine that it adds to the comfort of the pants. To accentuate this pant, I chose to go with the Men's UNIF "Hellraiser" again but in black this time. What can I say? I told you I'm in love with a spiked loafer and there's at least six more colors in this style so be prepared to see them again in the future ;)
I chose to style both looks with a graphic tank, for the men's look I decided to go with all black...I chose a black tank w/ a graphic skull on the front to bring out the grunge in this look.
To accessorize, I chose two pieces of jewelery. I decided to go with a stainless steel Salvatore Ferragamo watch (this is one of my dad's favorite labels, so I thought about him when I chose this timepiece) and a stainless steel ring w/ skull & cross detail. To complete the men's set, I selected the True Religion Drifter Eau de Toilette Cologne. This fragrance is priced at $59 USD.

Women's Styling, etc:
I decided to style the woman in leather high-waisted pants w/ a peplum detail to match the slim-fit of the menswear pant. I also chose to keep the graphic aspect of these looks by choosing a white tank with an image of model Rick Genest aka Rico the Zombie on the front.
To match his look, I paired this look with Jeffrey Campbell's Digi Spike Loafer in black. I wanted to keep these sets less accessorized because the looks are strong and over-accessorizing would be detrimental, because of this, I chose to stay minimal with her jewelery. I paired a silver Fossil watch with a swirl ring detailed with a quote which reads "Not All Who Wander Are Lost" (kudos to whoever quoted this, it speaks volumes and I'll probably use this as a post title, or better yet, a tattoo ;-P).

Chino, Chino, Chino!

Guns n' Roses
...denim diva

Music to Match the Look:
"All Signs Point to Lauderdale" x A Day to Remember

Styling:
I chose to style with chino pants & a denim moto-styled jacket.
I knew that this was the route that I wanted to go so, I ended up styling around these two items.
A graphic tee shirt was the best top to compliment this outfit, I picked a grey washed tank w/ a skull detail on the front to bring out some edge, subtly...
These colors mesh well together, they're complimentary instead of clashing.

Accessories:
To accessorize this look, I paired suede pumps in the same deep navy blue color as the jacket (the blue will pop against the khaki of the chinos)
- leather over-sized handbag (black)
- layered "mixed-metal" necklace
- "mixed-metal" knuckle or midi rings
- gold cross ring

Beauty:
- Tom Ford "Spanish Pink" Lipstick
I recommend going with a nude face, this look is pretty strong I would personally go very natural with my makeup & style my hair in an over-sized messy bun.

Nicole's OOTD: “I’m not a woman. I’m a force of nature.”

“We believed that anything that was worth doing was worth overdoing.”
Steven Tyler - 1990

Music to Match the Look:
"CrushCrushCrush" x Paramore

Outfit Details:
- fur vest
- black over-sized shirt (long sleeved)
- body con skirt (olive)
- spiked booties
- leather wrap around bracelet
- knuckle rings
